Children and Chiropractic
More and more families are using chiropractic care to complement medical care. Chiropractic is a natural and conservative healing art and science that concentrates on keeping children well.
The chiropractic physician specializes in the evaluation and improvement of spinal function. Even with infants and children, there are many problems that can cause the spinal nerves to become compressed, stretched or irritated, interupting nerve flow to cells, organs, and tissues throughout your body.
Spinal problems can occur with children just as they do with adults. Think about the way children sit, stand, bend, carry and move. We look at their activities and think, “It’s good they’re young and flexible!” But these activities often take a toll on children. A recent report cited backaches as a health complaint in 62% of children age 7-14.
Research continues, but many parents believe regular care by their children’s chiropractor is responsible for fewer colds and illnesses and better health overall.
